ATTACKS RENEWED.
JAPANESE IN THE PHILIPPINES. LANDING OF REINFORCEMENTS. LONDON, Jan. 22. The United States War Department in a communique from Washington today states: “In the Philippines theatre the Japanese are renewing their attacks all along General MacArthur’s line. Particularly heavy fighting is in progress on the left and on the centre. Enemy reinforcements are now being landed at-the Laigayen Gulf. The entire Japanese I.4th Army with a number of other units, is now in Luzon. Air activity in Luzon has been light during tiro last 24 hours. On Sunday 17 enemy bombers attacked the city of Cebu.”—British Official Wireless.
