MOTOR COLLISION

THREE CHILDREN INJURED. ONE SUFFERS CONCUSSION ACCIDENT IN HAVELOCK STREET Three children, one suffering from concussion anti two from cuts and abrasions, were admitted to the Ashburton Public Hospital at midday, as the result of a collision at the corner of Havelock and Grigg Streets. A coal lorry belonging to the Havelock Coal Supply, and driven by Mr Arthur Thompson, of 2 Willow Street, was proceeding west along Havelock Street when it came, in contact with a car, proceeding south along Grigg Street, driven by Mr Michael Joseph Shea, of Mitcham Road, Fairton, who was accompanied by Mrs Shea and five children. Those injured were: Patricia Hodges, aged 10; concussion. John Shea, aged G; cuts and abrasions. Kathleen Shea, aged 4£; cuts and abrasions.

The car was very badly damaged. A trailer, which contained sacks of lettuces and a crate of fowls was behind the car and was also badly damaged, the goods being scattered over the road.
