JAPANESE WARN AUSTRALIA. “DISCONTINUE RESISTANCE.” (Rec. 2.0 a.m.) NEW YORK, Jan. 21. The Tokio radio said that the Prime Minister (General Tojo), addressing the Diet, especially warned Australia and the Netherlands East Indies, “that Japan will show no mercy if they continue their resistance.” He also warned his own nation that Japan must be prepared to “meet many difficulties and tribulations which will arise in future from Britain and America’s determination to resist and turn the tide of war.”
