ASHBURTON CHAMPIONSIPS. The finals of the Ashburton Golf Club’s championships were played on Saturday and were followed with a great deal of interest, particularly in the afternoon. Results:— Men—Senior: C. J. Bonnington beat W. P. Anderson, 7 up and 5 to play. Intermediate: F. P. Fogarty beat A. TV. Clarke, 2 up. Junior: A. A. McDonald beat D. F. Gane, 6 and 5. Women—Senior: Mrs E. Brophy beat Mrs H. A. Vozey, 2 up. Intermediate: Mrs J. H. Chapman beat Miss P. Holland, 5 and 4. Junior: Mrs C. H. Hardy beat Mrs T. M. Hamilton, 10 and 9. - Bonnington played a good standard of golf in the final rounds, after being all square at the 9th and holes. Play in the women’s senior final was even all day, Mrs Brophy being one up at the eighteenth hole.

ASHBURTON v. RICHMOND HILL.

As a result of the second of two matches between the Ashburton and Richmond Hill Golf Clubs, the Ashburton Club has won by 34 to 32. The first match was played at 7/ielmiond Hill on October 5 and the second play took place at Ashburton over the weekend.
