FAREWELL GIFTS.

PRESENTATION AT LISMORE. In aid of tiro patriotic funds a very successful community sing, under the direction of Mr Barnett, was held in the Lismore School recently, Mr Telford and Mr Bell, of Hinds, being responsible for the screening of the songs. Mrs Barnett and Miss Bell wore accompanists. Mr T. Mulligan (president of tnc Patriotic Committee), who presided, thanked all who had helped to make the evening suclr a success. After supper, occasion was taken to say farewell to Mr and Mrs Feron and family, who are leaving the district. Mr Mulligan spoke of the valuable assistance Mr and -Mrs Feron and family had rendered to the district during their long residence and referred to Mr and Mrs Feron’s connection with every organisation. The Rev. W. Moffat, in presenting Mr and Mrs Feron; with a silver teapot and contents from Lismore and Maronan districts, paid tribute to the family fo.r their • interest in church matters.

Mr IT. Lowe presented Mr Feron with a fountain pen from members of the vestry and spoke of the happy relations which had always existed between Mr Feron and that body. Mr El. Rhodes (Maronan) also spoke in eulogistic terms of the Feron family. Leo Addis, Alison Fleming and Elizabeth, Corbett presented Robert, Velma and Isabel Feron with small tokens from the schoolchildren, while Shirley Bennett presented Miss Jean Feron with a crystal dish from the Sunday School. A short dance to..music by Mesdanres Barnett and Addis, brought a. very successful evening to a close.
