WOMEN’S HOCKEY.
TRIAL MATCHES IN ASHBURTON. FOUR TEAMS ARE SELECTED. Two trial wbmen’s hockey matches are to be played at the Ashburton Domain on Saturday after which the County representative teams will bo chosen. Tho team which will travel to the Dominion tournament at Blenheim will include 15 players. While this team is away two teams will play matches against teams from the Malvern SubAssociation on Saturday, August 110, at Ashburton, and the local association is also endeavouring to arrange matches for the following Saturday, September 6. The trial teams are as follow:

Any player not available for the trial games is asked to notify the secretary (Mr C. Bishop) or the selector (Mr W. T. Corbett). The draw for the trials is as follow: No. 3. v. No. 4, at 2 p.m., Messrs Bishop and Johns; No. 1 v. No. 2, at 3 p.m., Messrs Bishop and Honeyman. The draw for the junior grade on Saturday is as follows: Ashburton v. Wakanui, at Ashburton, 1.45 p.m., Mr Honeyman; Metliven Av. Rakaia, at Rakaia, Mr Orams; Technical v. Metliven B, at Ashburton, at 3 p.m., Mr Johns.
