SOLDIER INJURED.
MAY HAVE BEEN HIT BY CAR. FOUND BY PASSING MOTORIST. According to a statement made by the police !to-day, it is not known whether Staff-Sergeant Dudley Wood, avlio Avas found lying near hjs bicycle on the Main South road just south of the Ashburton traffic bridge on Saturday eveniiig, fell from his bicycle or was knocked off and Avas the victim of a hit-and-run motorist. • Staff-Sergeant Wood Avas found by a passing motorist at about 6.45 p.m. He Was removed to the Ashburton Public Hospital suffering from concussion. His condition to-day \vas reported to be comfortable. He is about 35 years old, and Avas just recently invalided home from the Second NeAV Zealand Expeditionary Force.
