JAPANESE VESSEL.
AVOIDS ENTERING SYDNEY. TWO AUSTRALIANS LANDED. (Rec. 1.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Another of the three elusive Japanese ships in Australian waters, the China Maru, halted five miles off Sydney Heads on Saturday .and transferred two Australian carpenters to a waiting launch which brought them into the harbour. The China Maru then set her course for Kobe, refusing to come into port to .complete her loading. . ' 'The carpenters were working aboard when the news was received of the freezing of Japanese assets. The men said they received most courteous treatment from the Japanese captain and crew, but received a shock at one stage of their journey from Port Pirie when the captain feared that he would have to take them direct to Kobe. The overdue Japanese vessel Kashima Maru, with the new consul aboard is still not reported.
