ANOTHER FROST.

RECORDING OIF 4.4 DEGREES. SUNNY BUT CHILLY TO-DAY. A frost of similar intensity to that of Monday night was experienced in Ashburton last night. The Domain weather station recorded a frost of 4.4 degrees to-day, compared with 4.5 yesterday. The ground frost last night was 9.8 degrees. Conditions were again very chilly last night and the ground was again white and frozen this morning. The weather to-day was brilliantly sunny, but there was a very chilly wind and the atmosphere was definitely wintry. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 47.0 and 27.6 degrees respectively, while on, the previous day they were 44.3 and 27.5 degrees respectively.

The barometer stood at 29.92 inches to-day.

TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: Winds variable, with moderate sea breezes on the coast. Weather fine and cod, with sharp frosts to-night and some morning fogs. Seas decreasing, southerly swell.
