Mr J. Bathgate, of Ashburton, has been reappointed representative of the Canterbury Automobile Association on the Peel Forest Scenic Reserve Board.
Mr Charles Rowe, who will replace Mr H. D. Irving in charge of the stock department of Wright, Stephenson and Company here, arrived in Ashburton yesterday.
Mr A. W. Scott, advertising manager of tho “Taranaki Daily News,” has been appointed manager of tlie “StarSun,” Christchurch, and leaves New Plymouth about the middle of June to take up his new appointment.
Congratulations on his election, to tho Ashburton Borough Council were extended to Mr W. H. Amos, secretary of the Ashburton Agricultural and Pastoral Association, by members yesterday afternoon.
Mr George Jordan, who shortly leaves Ashburton for Trentham Military Camp, has been presented with a money-belt and hold-all by members of tho Ashburton Tramping Club. In making the presentation, the president (Mr C. Holdgate) referred to Mr Jordan’s good work as a foundation member of the chib and president for four years.
