SEVERE INJURIES.
YOUNG MAN IN HOSPITAL. THROWN FROM A BICYCLE. Theodore Sullivan, aged 18 years, of 11 Dieken Street, Addington, suffered a fractured nose, outs about the face and head, and concussion, when his overcoat, which he was apparently carrying on the bar of his bicycle, became entwined between the front wheel and forks, throwing him heavily in to the road, about lj miles south of Chertsey on Saturday afternoon. , Sullivan was one of rt party of four young men, two riding on bicycles, and two on a motor-cycle, who were travelling from Christchurch to Rangitata Island, where they intended to spend the week-end. The accident occurred at about 3.30 p.m. and Sullivan was conveyed to the Ashburton Public Hospital by ambulance. It was reported this morning that his condition was fairly satisfactory.
