“SMASH AND GRAB”
WANGANUI JEWELLER ROBBED. (Per Press Association). WANGANUI, This Day. A “smash and grab” raid was committed in Victoria Avenue at 3.20 a.m. to-day, the thief breaking windows of the New Zealand Watch Company, and taking rings and watches. A man was seen running away by a nearby neighbour, who was wakened by the noise, but no trace has been found since.
