PATRIOTIC APPEAL.
RESPONSE IN THE COUNTY. FUND. NOW STANDS AT £2268. The Ashburton County fund for the patriotic appeal stood this afternoon at £2,268 6s Id, Further contributions which have just come to hand are:— Baling Patriotic Committee, £6l 8s; Chertsey, £BB Is 7d • Ruapuna and Oarew, £l6l 16s 1 6d; dance at Lynnford, £7 3s; Seafield, £3l 6s. A splendid response has been obtained in the Wakanui Riding, which is the first district to practically reach its quota. A total of £762 is in sight and further amounts have to come to hand. The districts’s quota is £772.
