WORK APPRECIATED.
PRESENTATION AT HINDS In appreciation, of services rendered over 25 years the Hinds Hall Corporation tendered a complimentary social and dance to Mr J. R. Elms, who has acted as door-keeper at practically all the public dances during that period and recently as caretaker. There was a largjS attendance, including representatives of all sperts bodies of tha district. Mr C. D. Chisnall, who presided, spoke oiii behalf of the Hall Committee, Hockey Club and Basketball Club. On behalf of residents-Mir J. Davidson presented Mr Elms with a couch, bearing a silver plate suitably inscribed. A presentation of a fireside chair was also made to Mrs Elms. ■ Mir F. Rickard spoke on behalf of the Miniature Rifle Club, and' Mr C. King on behalf id the Football Club. A progressive euchre tournament was won Ivy Mrs H. (Stephens and Mr G. Reddecliffe.
Music for the dance was supplied by Mi’ P. Taylor’s Orchestra. Mr S'. Lowe was master of ceremonies.
