PERSONAL.
Mrs F. 1 Curtis left yesterday for a 10 days’ holiday at the Franz Josef Glacier with a travel group organised by the South Cantefbury Federation, of Women’s Institutes.
Mr G. V. Oetl, of the Ashburton .Post Office, has been transferred to the Chief Post Office, Wellington, and Mr . F. V. Baker has been promoted to the Telegraph School at Christchurch. Mr W. T. Olds will leave shortly for 'Runalign.
Major I. It. Wit-hell, New Zealand Army Ordnance Corps, has been appointed Chief Inspector of Munitions, in addition to his appointment as Inspecting Ordnance Officer. Major Withell is a son) of the late Mr O. W. Withell, who was headmaster of the Mayfield School and was educated at the Ashburton High School.
