THE TOURNAMENT AT METHVEN. A meeting of the committee) of the Methven Ladies’ Hockey Chib was presided over by the president (Mjrs G. Johns). Preliminary arrangements for the annual tournament to be held next Saturday were made. . Correspondence' was received 1 from, the Canterbury Hockey Association and Ashburton Men’s Hockey Association granting permission to" hold the men’s five-a-side tournament. The Methven Football Club granted. the use of its grounds at the Domain and the Ashburton County Council advised time the club had been granted a closed day for the tournament. The secretary stated that he had already received a number of entries, including one team from. Wellington.
