TENNIS.
THE MAYFIELD CLUB. The annual meeting of the Mayfield Tennis Club was held last evening. The election, of officers resulted: Patron, Mr W. W. Edis; president, Mr Joseph Murdoch; club captain, Mr It. W. Oakley; vice-captain, Mr G. Meikle; secretary and treasurer, Mr Iv. Burgess; committee, Mrs R. W. Oakley, Miss J. Shimmin, Messrs D. Dellow, P. Sowdon, J. Oakley; auditor, Mr D. O. Sewell; match committee, captain, vice-captain and secretary. It was decided to hold a working bee next Saturday, and to have the opening day on Saturday, September 28. It was decided tp affiliate with the Mid-Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association. Two new nets are to be purchased.
