THE WEATHER.
BEAUTIFULLY SUNNY AGAIN. I Tiro more beautiful winter days than to-day and yesterday could scarcely be wished for. There has been bright sunshine and a complete absence of the chilly, breeze usual at this time of the veer. Temperatures rose sharply yesterday, the maximum exceeding; 60 degrees for the first time /or many weeks. The grass minimums showed a frost of 8.8 degrees yesterday and of 8 degrees this morning. The maximums and minima yesterday were 03.4 and 31.3 degrees and on Saturday 51.7 and 30.7 degrees. The barometer has remained steady slightly above? 30.0 1 inches. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— An anti-cyclone covers New Zealand and pressure is low over south-eastern Australia. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows; Light but gradually freshening northerly winds. Weather fair to fine, some frosts to-night, but rather milder day temperatures. Seas slight.
