SUNDAY SCHOOLS.
MHLCANTERBURY PRESBYTERIANS. CENTENARY CONFERENCE TO-DAY. There, was a good representative attendance at the centenary conference of the 'Presbyterian Sunday School Teachers’ Association of Mid-Canter-bury when it opened at 'St. Andrew s Church' building this morning. The Revs. L. V. Bvbby, of Methven, and J. S. Freeman, of Mayfield, conducted the proceedings. After morning tea the Rev. E. B. Stevenson,' of Rakaia, conducted a short devotional service. The Rev. R. Byqrs, of St. Albans, Christchurch, delivered an address on “Class competition and methods of increasing the interest of . scholars in their Sunday School.” He displayed a number of attractive posters and referred to class competitions which could be arranged with the use of a duplicator.
The Assembly Youth Worker (Sister K. Every) spoke on “Expression work in the Sunday School.” Luncheon was provided in St. Andrew’s Hall by the Ashburton Sunday Sehoql workers. The main feature of the afternoon’s programme was an address by the Youth Director (Dr. J. D. Salmond).
