OCEAN YACHT RACE.
EIGHT CRAFT AT WELLINGTON. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, January 16. Of the 11 starters in the Centennial Yacht Race from Lyttelton to Wellington, which started on Saturday, only eight had reached Wellington tonight, and only six finished the race. Te Hongi, Maputu, Nanette, and Gypsy arrived during Monday night and this morning. , No official times have yet been worked out, but Tawhiri is certain to be the winner, with llaukawa second, Nanette or Maputu third, and Gypsy or Te Hongi fifth. The remaining three yachts in the race put in at points south of Wellington, Tucana (with a broken main boom) and Senorita at Kaikoura, and Arawa (with a split mainsail) at Port Underwood.
