UNREST IN GERMANY.
HITLER’S PROMISES OVERDUE. ECONOMIC PRIVATIONS. LONDON, November 16. The Rotterdam correspondent of '‘The Times” states that according to neutral correspondents the German people are restive at the continued inaction. The Governijent’s “Gott Strafe England” mood lasted some weeks, but the people are now looking for results. The fulfilment of Herr Hitler’s promises is long overdue. The newspapers promise terrible things, but nothing happens. The press concentrates on magnifying small achievements. The strain on nerves is increasing.
The Independent Socialists in Germany have sent a message to the Independent British Labour Party after a silence of six weeks, detailing terrible economic conditions. The Germans declared that the food rations were insufficient for tho preservation of health. The misery of the working class was great. The people did not want war, and underground organisations were fighting by leaflet and radio for peace and liberation of the races brought under Herr Hitler’s::domination; . . 7 .. . "
