HIGH STANDARD.

RED CROSS WORK IN COUNTY. £ RESULTS OF EXAMINATIONS. The high standard of work of almost every candidate was the most pleasing feature of the examinations conducted during the last few days by the Ashburton centre of the Red Cross Society at Lismore, Eiffelton and Anaina. The examinations were for firstaid at the first three centres and for liome-nursing at Flemington. The successful candidates were:— Lismore—Misses A. M. Clucas, M. J. Feron, At. L. Quaid, M. A. Whiting and Messrs H. G. Aitken and R. N. Clucas. Eiffelton—Mrs R, M. Crossman, Misses M. Crossman, J. Asquith, and Messrs E. W. A. Wronn and C. W. Maitland. Anama—Mesdamos E. G. Quantock, M. L. The meeting of the Ealing branch of the Red Cross Society, held in the Ealing Library Hall, marked the conclusion of a series of six first-aid lectures. The lectures were given by Sister E. Briscoe, of Ashburton, who was assisted by Airs J. Alackenzie, of Ealing. Several candidates will enter for the examination. Home nursing classes under Sister Briscoe will begin at the end of the month.
