OPEN TOWNS BOMBED.
GERMANS BREAK THEIR PLEDGE ACCUSATION BY POLES. (United Press Association—Copyright.) (Received This Day, 9.5 a.m.) NEW YORK, September 3. The Warsaw correspondent of the United Press of America says that a Government communique states that Germany, after contacting Poland through the Netherlands Government, proposed not to bomb open towns, to which Poland agreed. However, the Germans bombed at least 24 towns on Saturday', including the holy city of Czestochowa, which is in flames, and the textile centre of Lodz. A -spokesman for the German Government denied that the Air Force had bombed open Polish cities. He said they had bombed military objectives near them.
