BAND FESTIVAL.
THE SALVATION ARMY. RESULTS OF SOLO CONTEST. The annual solo contest of the Ashburton. Salvation Army Band was held on Saturday evening. The judge was Bandmaster H. H. Neeve, of the Wellington City Citadel Band, who congratulated the band on its musical standard. Results were: —Bandsman R. Frew, “Sehensuct,” 99 points k; Bandsman C. Hopwood “Lucille,” 97 points, 2; Bandsman R<. E. Argyle, “Zelda,” 96 points, 3. There was a* large attendance.
