The Colonial Office has received the following message from Palestine:—i - • ‘
“A long printed - manifesto j signed by eight former commanders of the Arab rebel bands now in Damascus, criticises the Grand Mufti and the Arab Higher Committee for having rejected the British Government’s White Paper on what are alleged to be purely personal grounds. “The manifesto, which is circulating widely in Palestine, is stated to have been drawn up at a. meeting of Mujahideen (holy warriors) in Damascus, by whom the eight signatories were elected as a Committee for News from Palestine.
“It indicated that the majority of noble Arab people fully agree that the White Paper forms a. good basis for the realisation of our natural aspirations in the cause for which wo fought.’ ” —Brittish Official Wireless.
