CROQUET.
THE METHVEN CLUB. SUNDAY PLAY NOT ALLOWED At a meeting of the committee of the Miethven Croquet Club, at which Mrs Guthrie presided, a proposal to allow Sunday play on the club’s greens was defeated. It was agreed that visiting players have the use of the greens at a fee of one shilling per afternoon. It was reported that - the Club competitions were almost completed and players who still have games to play were asked to get these off as soon as possible. Advice was.received that the match against Ashburton in the final round for the Gala Cup would be played tomorrow.
