RARE OCCASION.
tWO CHAMPION BANDS PLAYING DOMAIN ATTRACTION ON SUNDAY f * A new idea in band concerts will be tried out as an experiment in Ashburton next Sunday. It is aa t cll known that music takes on a new charm when it comes over Avater, so it has been decided that a temporary stand will be erected on the large island near the Wills Street entrance, and there the tAvo champion bands of NeAV Zealand— Woolston (A Grade) and Ashburton Silver (B Grade) —will present a programme. No spectators will be permitted on the island, but there is ample space for them on the other side of the Avater.. * • It AA r ill be a rare occasion, the tAvo champion bands playing ‘ togethei', and it is anticipated there will be a large attendance of the public. The Woolston Band Avill play again in the evening and will take up a collection for its own funds. Permission to play in the Domain and to take up a collection in the afternoon was last evening granted, to the Ashburton Band by the Domain Board. , ;
