OUTBUILDING DAMAGE.
FIRE IN CHALMERS AVENUE. OUTBREAK THIS MORNING. Two rooms of an: outbuilding at the back of the premises of the Misses Andrews, Chalmers Avenue, were destroyed by fire, which broke out at about 8.15 o’clock this morning. The building Avhich adjoins- the house, had four rooms, hut two Avere saved by the Ashburton Volunteer - Fire Brigade, AA'hich was quickly on.the scenic. The property is immediately next to that of Mr George' Andmvs, Avhose garage Avas damaged by fire at midnight a fewi days ago. The brigadejiad the fire under control in about half-an-hour, but some goods stored in one of the rooms Avere destroyed. It is not known the five started. The brigade has been called out to fires on 17 occasions since January 1. The total number of calls last year Avas 15. '
