TIMARU WINS A GRADE. (Per Press Association). CHRISTCHURCH. March 12. The Dominion Pipe Band Contest was decided during the week-end. Timaru Highland Avon the A Grade championship and the Manawatu Scottish Society’s Band the R Grade. Thirteen bands competed, and features of the contest Avas the street march, Avhich Avas Avatched by a. large croAvd on Saturday, and the Drum-Majors display at the ShoAvgrounds to-day, the latter being most impressive and attracting 18,000 spectators.
