TENNIS.
RUAPUNA BEATS SPRINGBURN. The Springbnrn Tennis Club played a friendly game against Ruapuna at Ruapuna recently. Ruapuna won by 13 sets (109 games) to 11 sets (105 games).
ROKEBY SINGLES TOURNAMENT
The Rokeby Tennis Club held a singles handicap tournament, for
which trophies were silver cups given by the club. Thirty-one entries were received. Mr R. B. Knight was hamlicapper and some very close matches resulted. The women’s cup was won by Miss L. Penney and the men’s cup by R. B. Knight.
TEAMS FOR SATURDAY. The following teams will represent their respective clubs in tennis matches next Saturday:— Te Marae. Senior Grade—A Team : Misses Meredith-, Burgess, Drummond, and McSherry; Messrs J. Russell, G. McPherson, A. Fergus and R. W. Oirr. B Team: Misses Dahlberg, McLennan, Samuels, Dunn ; Messrs E. Bryant, AY. Watkins, B. Jordan, and N. Tally. Junior Grade Mrs Rcddocliffe, Misses Cambridge, Wall, and Rogers; Messrs A. Hansen, Baynes, Meacham, and Moorhead.
