THE WEATHER.
BLUSTERY CONDITIONS TO-DAY
The weather in Ashburton to-day was most unpleasant on account of the strong north-westerly wind. The temperature was warm. The maximum thermometer reading stood at 58.3, while the minimum night temperature was 44.7. The barometer reading this morning was 20.78 inches.
TO-DAY’S FORECAST.
(Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day
The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: — General situation: Pressure is high to the north-east of New Zealand and has .risen over South-eastern Australia. A rather deep depression is advancing from the Tasman Sea. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: — Winds moderate to strong northerly to north-westerly at first but turning to southerly to-night. Weather becoming unsettled with rain probable. Temperatures Incoming cold. Seas slight to moderate but rising.
