LODGE MEETINGS.
ASHBURTON MANCHESTER UNITY. The quarterly summoned meeting of the Loval Ashburton Lodge, M. was held last evening, the N.G. (Bro D. A. Smith) presiding over a very good attendance. Sick pay amounting to £27 3s 4d was passed in favour of 18 members. Notification was .received from cue District Secretary (Bro. A. C. Hardy) that the ritual competition had been won bv the Ashburton Lodge, with Mayfield second and Methven third. It was decided to hold a social in February when the competition gavel will be presented by the D'.G.AI. The social committee presented the draft syllabus for next year, which was adopted. The election of officers resulted:— N. Bro. D. A. Bird; V.G., Bro. D. Porter; E.S., Bro. M. J. Lewitt; Lecture Master, P.G. Bro. It. !H. Biggar. It was decided to recommend to the district that the surplus be appropriated to reduce members’ contributions. The Social Committee reported that the arrangements for the Christmas tree were well in hand.
LOYAL ORANGE INSTITUTION. The monthly meeting" of the Loyal Ora nge Lodge was held recently, the AY.AI. (Bro. Cjroy) presiding ovier a large attendance. The annual election of officers resulted:—W.M., Bro. Croy; Deputy M., Bro. AY. Hitchins • Chaplain, Bro. A. H. Hitchins; secretary, Bro. AV. Dixon ; Foreman of Committee, Bro. ,J. Mclntyre ; Director of Ceremonies, Bro. E. G. Church; Senior Deacon, Bro. F. AY. Ferguson; Junior Deacon, Bro. A. J. Thompson ; Inside Tyler, Bro. J. Kidd; Outside Tyler, Bro. P. -Hansen; auditors, Bros. Brown and Harkness. The installation will bo hold on Saturday, December 10.
