OVERCAST CONDITIONS TO-DAY. With a cool wind from the northeast, and with the sky gloomily overcast, the weather in Ashburton today mas not too promising, and was an unwelcome change from the fine sunny conditions that were enjoyed yesterday and the day before. Bright sunshine prevailed yesterday, when the maximum temperature was 63.0 degrees. The minimum last night was 49.4 degrees. The barometer stood at 30.18 inches this morning. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— Am anti-cyclone is still centred east of the Dominion. A rather intense depression is located south of Norfolk Island and is moving south-eastward. Another depression lies off the north coast of New South Wales. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: Moderate to fresh north-easterly winds. Weather mostly cloudy to overcast and in places misty with some drizzling rain at times. Temperatures mild. Seas moderate. \
