ADMITTED SOLICITOR.
MISS M. R. KENNEDY. t (Special to the “ Guardian.”) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. Miss Margaret Rutherford Kennedy was admitted as a barrister and solicitor of the Supreme Court by Mr Justice Nortlicroft yesterday, on the motion cf Mr J. D. Hutchison. She is the second woman to he admitted to the Bar in Christchurch within little more than a month. Miss Kennedy, who is a member of the firm of J. J. Dougall, Son, and Hutchison, Christchurch, will probably be the first practising solicitor in this city. A daughter of Mr Robert Kennedy, solicitor, of Ashburton, she was educated at the Ash burton Convent, Ashburton High School, Timaru High School, and Canterbury University College, where she graduated last year. She was formerly a member of her father’s staff, and joined the firm of J. J. Dougal], Son. and -Hutchison 12 months ago.
