Mr B. S. Wilkie, son of Mr J. M Wilkie, of Ashburton, has passed another section of the degree of bacheloi of dental surgery.
Mr B. G. Craighead,- of Ashburton, has passed the written part of the Electrical Wiremen’s Registration Examination.
Fathers Wallis and Bourke, two missioners of the Redemptorist Order, Wellington, will arrive in Ashburton to-morrow to provide a course of religious instruction, lasting for a fortnight. ,
Mr E. H. Pentecoste, formerly on the stalf of Messrs H. and J. Smith, Ltd., Invercargill, has been appointed head of the Manchester Department of Messrs Moore’s, Ltd., Ashburton, and commences duties on Monday.
Mr L. W. Christmas, of the National Mortgage and Agency Coy., of N.Z., Ltd., who for the last nine years has been in charge of the Seed, Tractor, and Machinery Departments, will in addition now assume control of the Grain and Produce Department.
Mr D. A. Lawson. who lias been transferred to the position of Salesman of the National Mortgage and Agency Coy., of N.Z., Ltd., Christchurch, Grain and Produce Department, will leave for his new position early nest menth
Mr N. F. Pattle, who has .been manager of the Ashburton branch of the Union Bank of Australia, Ltd., for the last 4$ years, and who is retiring, will relinquish his duties here on Monday. He and Mrs Pattle were met by members of the staff and were presented with a souvenir of their residence in Ashburton. Prior to coming to Ashburton Mr Pattle was manager of the Opotiki branch, and before that held the managership of the branch at Pukekohe. Mr Pattle will leave Ashburton on Tuesday, and intends to reside in Nelson. Mr R. M. Stewart, of Timaru, will assume the managership of the Ashburton branch on Wednesday.
