GIRL GUIDES.

ANNUAL MEETING OF COMMITTEE The Ashburton County Girl Guides’ Committee held its annual general meeting at the residence of Airs \\ . R. Ryburn on Thursday afternoon. ' A satisfactory report and balance-sheet were presented. The company reports were very interesting and showed a good year in spite of difficulties —namely, tlie shortened year on account of the epidemic, and the lack of a suitable hall in which to hold meetings. Arrangements for this year’s Guide camp are well in hand and the committee have promised to assist with transport and lood supplies. TliO Guides are holding .the camp fire at the Showgrounds on Saturday, December 11, when gifts for the Red Cross Society in China will be contributed.

The officers for the ensuing year are as follow: —President, Airs \\ . BRyburn; vice-presidents, Alesdames E. IL Newton, J. H. Grigg, Trevor, H. S. Billcliff, and W. B. Lane; secretary and treasurer, Aiiss A. Amos; committee, Alesdames G. I. Aliller, F. W. Selclon, J. R. Wells, E, A. Cockroft, L. J. Watt, C. AT. 1 lines, W. H. Woods, N. E. H. Fulton, Alisses E. Cameron and M. Findlay.

The president entertained the members to afternoon tea, which brought the meeting to a close.
