HOOLIGAN ACTIONS.

DAMAGE TO STATE HOUSES. (Per Press Association.) WHANGAREJ, November 26. Bobbie’s subdivision, where Government houses are being erected, has become a favourite exercising ground for a gang of juvenile hooligans. Roofing tiles and windows have been smashed, sand scattered to the winds, and bricks removed from neatly-piled stacks. The damage has compelled Mr A. Walker, the contractor, to publish a warning that action may be taken against trespassers who have not received written authority to inspect the houses.

Several of the twelve houses being erected have reached an advanced stage, but none will be ready for tenants until after Christmas.
