LODGE MEETING.
LOYAL ASHBURTON, M.U.1.0.0.F. The' quarterly summoned meeting of the Loyal Ashburton, 'Lodge, M.U.1.0.0.F., was held last evening, the N.G. (Bro. C. Dawson) presiding over a very good attendance. A motion of sympathy with Bro. G. Cartwright in the death of his infant, daughter was carried in the manner customary in the Order. Sick pay amounting to £35 6s 8d was passed in favour of 22 members. P.G. Bros. 11. H. Biggar and E. H. Childs reported on the quarterly meeting of the United Friendly Societies’ Council. Arrangements were made for a visit to the Loyal Hinds Lodge to-morrow, when the gavel won by the Hinds Lodge in the recent ritual competition will be presented. Arrangements were also made for a visit to the Loyal Coleridge Lodge, Glcntunnel, on Tuesday, Decembo l ' 7. In response to a request by the District Secretary the Social Committee was instructed to prepare the syllabus for next year and present it for adoption at the next meeting. One candidate was nominated. The following officers were declared elected unopposed:—N.G., Sister M., Vincent; V.G., Bro. D. A. Smith; E.S., Bro. D. A. Bird; Trustee, P.G. Bro. A. C. Hardy; Lecture Master, P.G. Bro. R. H. Biggar.
