LOSS OF ’PLANE.
DUE TO MISADVENTURE. INQUIRY BOARD’S FINDINGS. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A finding that the loss of the aeroplane ZK-ACZ, its pilot, Mr A. Smith, and a passenger, Mr J. Hamill, near Cape Terawhiti, on March 23, Avas due to misadventure and not to the default or negligence of any person, Avas made by the Board of Inquiry, whose finding is announced to-day. As a general submission, Avith a view to the preservation of life and the conservation of aii’craft, the Board recommends that all aero clubs be urged to insist that all trainees or members undergo advanced training, or a check of their dual flying at periods of 40, 60 and 80 hours of solo flying, and that such flying, include, wherever possible, some experience under adverse Aveather conditions.
