MID-CANTERBURY ASSOCIATION. NO REPRESENTATIVE MATCH. % As no suitable date is offering, tbe Mid-Canterbury Lawn Tennis Sub-As-sociation decided at its meeting last evening that it would, not be possible to play this season the representative match against South Canterbury, which had to bo postponed previously on account of bad weather. Arrangements were made for the Allenton Club, winners of the town section of the junior competition, to play the winners of the country section, as soon as they are determined, on the country courts. It was agreed to pay the expenses of the four Ashburton players taking part in the representative match at Rangiora on Saturday between the country associations and Canterbury. Saturday was fixed as the final date for receiving entries for the Gala Cup tournament, to ho played on. March 6 and 13. NEW ZEALANDERS IN SYDNEY. SYDNEY, February 24. _ The visiting Auckland junior tennis players J. T. Mayson, A. D. Brown and J. W. Gunn, will take part in a major tournament at the Illawarra Associated hard courts on Sunday when they will meet the three best juniors in New South Wales, Gilchrist, Lindo and Bennett.
