FORM OF M.C.C. TEAM. PLAYING LEVESON-GOWER’S ELEVEN. LONDON, Sept. 5. The Hon. Leveson-Gower’s team opened well at Scarborough against the M.C.C. team to tour Australia, but Hardstaff, in a stand, realising 164 runs in 115 minutes, saved: Marylebone, after a shaky start, in which five wickets fell for 65. Holmes, who
has been prevented from going to Australia for business reasons, replaced Yoce, who could not turn out. Holmes made his third century this season. He batted 185 minutes. Cover’s capture ot two wickets, leaves him eight more to complete his 200 thus equalling tho feat of E. A. Macdonald, the Australian, in 1925. The weather was line and the wicket good.
