BASKETBALL.
THE ASHBURTON ASSOCIATION. DECISIONS OF THE EXECUTIVE. The executive of the Ashburton Basketball Association met last evening, the president (Mr S. G. Macfarlane) presiding. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Mrs Coward was passed, members standing in silence. The senior and third grade competitions were declared closed, Technical Old Girls A being the winners of the senior grade and Allenton winners of the third grade. The junior competition will be decided by a play-oif between Tinwald and High School A at n Infai* flnf p The offer'of Mr G. Bowman to donate prizes for the winners of the senior seven-a-side knock-out competition on Saturday was accepted with sincere thanks. The secretary (Mr C. Ives) was instructed to purchase trophies for the junior and third grade seven-a-side knock-out competition. _ The draw for the senior seven-a-side knock-out competition is:—Technical Old Girls A v. The old-style basketball game is to be played at the conclusion of the knock-out games.
