THE WEATHER.
MILD* WITH NORTH-WEST WIND. Mild weather was experienced in Ashburton again to-day after a warm day and night yesterday. The wind was from the north-west, and was moderate in the morning. The warmest day since the beginning of Alay was experienced yesterday, the maximum temperature being 68.5 degrees. The night was also warm, with an inside minimum temperature of 47.8 degrees. Barometric pressure at 9 o’clock this morning was 29.65 inches, compared with 29.77 inches yesterday morning. TO-DAY’S FORECAST, (Per Prc-ss Association.! WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Aleteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather:— General inference: Pressure is very high to the eastward, while a depression covers the northern portion of the North Island and a deep westerly depression is advancing across the South Tasman Sea. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: Aloderate to strong northerly winds. Weather cloudy to overcast and mild with rain at times. Seas moderate to rather rough.
