James Braddock to-day agreed to defend the world heavy-weight boxing championship against Max Schmeling The bout will be promoted by the Madison Square Garden Corporation, to he held in New York, probably between September 24 and 30. DUNN’S SUCCESSFUL BOUT, WELLINGTON, July 28. In a boxing contest at Pet-one tonight, Henry 'Dunn (Hutt Valley), 9st bib, won his first professional bout against Bob Goughian (Manawatu), 9st 71b. Dunn, who won on points, was clearly superior throughout. STRICKLAND DEFEATS CARSTENS LONDON, July 28. M. Strickland (New Zealand) defeated Dave Cagstens (South Africa), the referee stopping the fight in the seventh round.
