MARKETING ACT.
NO CONCESSIONS BEING MADE. 'Per Piesa Association) WELLINGTON, July 28. In the House of Representatives today, Mr S. G. Smith (Nat., New Plymouth) asked the Minister of Marketing (the Hon. W. Nash) if it was a fact that an agreement existed by which the dairy produce of the Amalgamated Dairy Co., or the New Zealand Co-oper-ative Dairy Co., or any company selling their products would be excluded in the meantime from the provisions of the Primary Products Marketing Act. Mr Nash, in reply, said no arrangement existed with any company. As was laid down in the Act, no dairy produce exported from New Zealand was excluded from the operations of the Act. The produce when placed aboard an overseas steamer became the property of the Government. No one was getting any special consideration.
