A correspondent of the “Sun-Her-ald” Service says that as a result of the ’shipowners and National Union of Seamen reaching an agreement, the working hours of thousands of British seamen are to be reduced from 84 hours to 56 weekly, without reduction of pay. This applies to all deck workers, excluding navigating .ofl‘icers and wireless operators on all ships exceeding 2500 tons_ ‘ The negotiations are not completed regarding the engine-room, stokehold, and catering department. -m
