RANGITATA BRIDGE.
THE NEW STRUCTURE IN USE. (Per Press Association.) ‘- * TIMARU, This Day. The new railway bridge over the Rangitam River, replacing the wooden structure which has been in use for 60 years, was placed in commission yester—day, when it was crossed by the north—bound express. The new bridge, which. is of iron, with ferro—concrete rp-illars, is 2000 feet long, and is at an elevation of about 12 feet higher than the old bridgeJ thus reducing the dip at the north end to a considerable extent.
