DESCRIPTION OF PLAY. Rokeby (red) v. Convent O.G. (green). ‘ Rokeby won the toss and the match' opened briskly for Green to take the first shot at goal, which went wide. Red defenders sent the ball down}, only for ‘it to be snapped up by Green centres, ‘who were playing brilliantly, and returned to their forwards, who opened the score. Rokeby immediately at» tacked and two goals followed in quick succession. Quick passing by Green enabled Miss McSher-ry to shoot from directly under the goal. Play smarten—ed upJ both teams’ passing being clean and quick, Green centres, in particular’ showing great form. The Rokeby defence was too slow for their opponents, and it was fortunate for Red that their goalies lost very few of their chances of scoring. The half-time bell went with the score 13-9 in Convent’s favour. Play: resumed with both teams working hard, and after swift passing in all thirds Miss Penney (Red) won the ball to score. This was immediately followed by another. Miss Brosnahan (Green centre) secured the ball and sent it down for Miss Fitzgerald to score. Scores evened up and play became exciting as each team added yet an—other goal to their total. Red centres would do well to avoid passing to their forwards on the line, as many fumbled passes resulted in the ball going immediately to the Green third. Miss Cromie, Rokeby’s leftrhanded" forward, was responsible for several good goals, but Green managed to keep ahead. Miss Honeywell (Red) played a steady game in centre, but as the Whistle went for time, Green shot yet another goal and brought the score to 21-18 in their favour.

—~ flfiss M. Garbutt controlled the game.

Tinwald‘ (maroon) v. St.“ Stephen’s (blue). ' St. Stephen’s won the toss and- took the pass, but it went to the Tinwald goal, where Miss Hewson opened up the score, which was almost immediately followed by another from the same player. Blue attacked vigorously and the cent-res got the ball down for Miss Donald to score. Play. was very even and there was little to choose between the teams at any time. Miss R.

Spedding playedl a great game in St. Stephen’s centre third and stopped many! of Maroon’s attacking movements. Passing in all cases was very sure and no goals were thrown away through fumbling with the ball. Tinwald forwards were playing splendidly, but Blue managed to creep aheaw to make the half-time score 7-5 in their favour.

Tinwald scored immediately on re« suming play, but Miss Mahoney ringed for Blue, and goals followed in quick succession alternately for each] side. Blue centres combined splendidly and only good defence by Misses Stalker and Rountree stopped Blue’s score from creeping up. Miss Bell (Maroon centre) opened up many of Tinwald’s movements, and some fine shots fromj Miss Hewson brought the final score to 14-11 in Tinwald’s favour after a} very even match. 1 Mrs M. Cowan controlled the game. ‘
