DAIRY PRODUCE.
LONDON MARKETING CONDITION (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, April 14. An indication that the established and best merchants in the dairy industry in Tooley Street, London, are prepared to co-operate with the New Zealand Government in the distribution of the Dominion’s dairy exports under the guaranteed price scheme lias been received by the Minister for Finance (the Hon. W. Nash). Discussing the position to-night, the Minister said he had, received from a man closely associated with Tooley Street merchants a definite indication that the London merchants recognised the inevitability of changes in the form of marketing, but that the majority of the older houses would be willing to assist iit carrying out the Government’s proposals. “To the extent that the new procedure will eliminate as far as possible the speculative element, and provide for efficient distribution,” Mr Nash said, “evidence available tends to prove that merchants will co-oper-ate with the Government.”
