BOWLING.
“HINTS TO PLAYERS” The following advice under the heading “Hints to Bowlers” appears on fjbe boards of the Sydney clubs, and should certainly be sufficient to give any young bowler who tries to follow out the instructions a first-class headache : “Make certain that the members of the bowl are parallel with your forearm. To do this you must incline your head towards your right shoulder extend your arm so you can see straight down your arm through the top of the bowi at the * place on the green your bowl should roll over. “You must face the green when delivering your bowl; this will bring you across the mat at an angle. Place both heels together. Then use the pendulum swing—don’t extend your arm further back than the shape of your shoulder allows, bend the knee slightly (on the backward swing), which will cause you to rise' slightly on the toes. Then, on the forward swing, step with your left foot towards tho right on the mat for the forehand ; on your backhand you, of course, face the left, then follow through. “A player should aim at a spot 15 feet from the front of the mat, 4ft to the right for a- forehand shot, and 2ft Gin to the left for a backhand shot.”
